Buyer-side research · Refined petroleum products
Research built from records you can check yourself.
We work on gasoil, gasoline and jet fuel, mainly in Africa and South Asia. Three outputs: a counterparty file on a company you are about to deal with, a sourcing brief run on your written instruction, and a dated market note built from published procurement records.
What the work rests on
Most of what matters about a counterparty in this business is already public, and almost nobody reads it. National procurement agencies publish who bid for a cargo and at what premium. Downstream regulators publish import volumes company by company. Company registries say who signs.
We read those documents, keep a local copy of each with its checksum, and hand you the finding with the source attached. If a claim cannot be traced to a document, it is marked as unverified rather than smoothed over.

What you receive
Counterparty file
For a company you are about to trade with or introduce. Legal identity and registry position, who holds signing authority, evidence of cargo-handling capability, published import volumes where they exist, litigation and sanctions screening on open sources. Every entry carries its source; gaps are listed as gaps.
Sourcing brief
Run only on a written instruction that sets product, specification, parcel size, discharge port and acceptable payment terms. We approach suppliers on that requirement and report what we find. Non-exclusive, and it commits you to nothing.
Market note
A dated reading of published procurement records for one market: awarded premiums over the relevant Platts quotation, volumes, delivery windows, who competed. Facts and their source, with what the record does not show stated plainly.
Who does the work
Salvatore Prisco — Sole Director
Sole director and legal representative of CREA S.r.l., the Italian company behind this desk, incorporated in 2022 and registered in Naples. He runs the research himself and signs what goes out; there is no account layer between you and the person doing the work.
How an engagement works
- You describe the question. A company to check, a requirement to source, a market to read. An email is enough at this stage.
- We agree the scope in writing. What is covered, what is not, which sources we will use, and when you get it. Nothing starts before this exists.
- We do the work and cite it. You receive the finding with the documents behind it, and an honest list of what we could not establish.
- You decide what happens next. We do not take positions, do not hold documents on your behalf, and do not introduce anyone without your written authority.
Limits
Three, and they are policy rather than presentation.
- We do not hold product. CREA is not a title holder and never presents itself as one.
- No offer without a documented principal. No price, availability, origin or allocation is communicated as ours.
- We work only under a written engagement. CREA does not represent any buyer or seller unless expressly authorised in writing for that specific assignment.
Contact
Write to the desk with the company, product and market you have in mind, and the deadline you are working to. If we are not the right people for it, you will be told in the first reply rather than after three emails.
On impersonation: CREA writes only from addresses at progettocrea.it. We never ask for payment to a third-party account, never request proof of funds or transaction documents before a signed engagement, and never send unsolicited offers of product.
